Having said that, there are some phones (iPhone for example) where you can track the phone’s location on the hardware manufacturer’s website. You have to enable that option though (Find my phone in the case of an iPhone).

When you are paying, don’t pay without knowing what you are getting. Not doing your research may see you end up losing money. The Internet provides you an easy way to do your research and thus there is absolutely no excuse for not doing so. Make sure you know all your options and check some reviews before going with one. Free services aren’t all good either. Sometimes, you may sign up to a ToS that you don’t want to, and that’s why it’s important to do your groundwork even for a free service.
