Material and methods A titanium model of an edentulous maxilla with a bearing plate served as master model. Six implants Selleckchem ALK inhibitor (Nobel Replace RP, Nobel Biocare, Zurich) were distributed in the canine area, premolar and molar area. The titanium model was provided with special reference points. Using an optical 3D coordinate measuring machine (Tritop, Gom mbh, Braunschweig, Germany), the reference points were defined in a coordinate system before scanning with an industrial non-contact scanner (Atos So Gom mbh, Braunschweig, Germany) to obtain a reference data set. First, a method termed Traditional Scanning Method (TSM) was applied, i.e. the master model was digitized completely from the left side to right side. With the second method termed Combined Rucaparib concentration Scan Method (CSM), the master model was digitized from the midline of the alveolar crest in left direction to the premolar implant, and then from the midline in right direction to the premolar implant. After that, starting from the midline, the complete left side and finally, starting from the midline the complete right side was scanned. This procedure was repeated 25 times for both methods. A commercially available CAD software (GOM Inspect) was used to compare each of the 50 scans with the reference data set. On 13 points, deviations were calculated in the x-, y-, z- and xyz-axes. To compare the mean deviations between TSM Fluconazole and CSM, the sum of 13 points of the 25 measurements each was taken. T-test were used to determine differences. Results The TSM sum of the deviations at the x-axis were around 0.02?mm, the CSM deviations were close to 0.01?mm (P?
